As we’re approaching autumn, fruits ripen, leaves change hues and small animals start to stock up on food. This goes the same for fairies, they find it extremely hard to fly in the winter due to their delicate wings. So being the generous person I am I have decided to make them fairy doors for quicker, more convenient access to gardens. I’m afraid you won’t be able to see the actual fairies themselves as they are quite timid but I assure you they do use the doors when no one is looking 👀
Have a go at making your own, put your own spin on it. I made mine with polymer clay as it’s easy to use and will survive outdoors. You can buy this from most craft shops and it comes in a range of colours, you can even mix the colours together. All it requires is for you to set your oven to 130°C and bake for 15 minutes per every 1/4 inch of thickness (this is only a guide as manufacturers instructions may differ).
Don’t forget that the more detailed it is the more realistic it looks, I like to accent the grooves in the wood by adding some acrylic paint after it has set. If this inspires you to make your own, please message me as I would love to know how you got on. Have fun!
